England Players must Quit the Field: Shaun Wright Phillips

Shaun Wright Phillips is the former football player from England. He said that it will be a huge step will be taken the national football team of England if they decide to walk off from the pitch regarding the racist abuse faced by the black players. He has faced abuses a lot of times in his career too. He was once the target of the monkey chants. He added that those of the fans of England shout out abusive language against the players should be deprived of watching the game.

Phillips is a retired player of Manchester City for which he has played a lot of games. He said racist fans and those who support racism must be banned from all the games. If they are taken away from a thing that they love will wipe out abuses against a particular race in the future from the game. Black players from England faced a lot of racist abuse from local fans when they won the match against Montenegro during the first quarter of 2019. Fears grew that Gareth Southgate side members will again be targeted when they visit Sofia in October. The Bulgarian FA was fined by UEFA with the suspects that they were chanting racist comments towards the black players in one of the qualifier matches of Euro 2012 in Sofia.

Wright-Phillips: Chelsea shouldn’t Expect Pulisic to Replace Hazard

Christian Pulisic is not to be expected to fill in as a replacement for Eden Hazard, believes Shaun Wright Phillips. Eden Hazard is ready to leave the blues to join Real Madrid for £88million. Chelsea has signed the young player Christian Pulisic in the month of January. However, they loaned him to Borussia Dortmund towards the season end. Chelsea might have been eyeing this potential transfer ban put on this summer. They had appealed to Court of Arbitration as they signed the player. Wright-Phillips, the former winger of the Blues says that it is not going to be fair to take Pulisic as the replacement.

He says that he would not say that Pulisic is there to fill in the boots of Hazard and it is not to put this load on him. Pulisic is in the club to bring in another way to play for Chelsea. This is going to develop footprints and help him to create his own legacy. Wright-Phillips says that he is surely the players that fans are going to prefer and that in America he is rated quite highly. He also believes the Blues have enough of loan talent which they have to bring back if they have to make up for losing Hazard.

The issue of racism in football has hit a peak point this season with a number of unsavory incidents dominating the media of recent. This has brought about a renewed campaign by many past and present players who have spoken against such incidents.

One player who understands this issue is former Chelsea winger Shaun Wright-Phillips. The 37-year-old recently revealed to Talksport about his take on the situation. According to him, he had received adequate information about racism from his father when growing up as a footballer.

Ian Edwin Wright, the professional footballer from England aged 55 years and television/ radio personality has achieved a lot more than the others with a great amount of hard-work and dedication towards the goal that he set for himself. Shaun Wright-Phillips And His Father

Shaun Wright-Phillips has been part of Phoenix Rising FC since 2017. There are comparisons still made of the goal that he had scored around this time in 2005 against Crystal Palace. At that time Wright-Phillips, playing for Manchester City, had scored two goals and along with Robbie Fowler, had managed to secure a score of 3-1 for his team that resulted in a win for them at Etihad stadium.

Born of 1981, he started playing early and was a successful recruit for the English professional team. Jose Mourinho explains why Marcus Rashford was handed the number 10 shirt

Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho has explained the reason behind handing Marcus Rashford the number 10 shirt for the upcoming campaign. The England international recently returned from an extended break following the World Cup and he has since been rewarded with the number 10 shirt, which has previously been worn by the likes of Wayne Rooney and Zlatan Ibrahimovic.

Speaking to reporters, Mourinho highlighted that Rashford had always wanted to wear the number 10 jersey but he had to wait for the opportunity with Rooney and Ibrahimovic previously ahead of him in the pecking order, he said: “He (Rashford) always wanted it (the number ten shirt). And then Zlatan (Ibrahimovic) wanted to have it. Of course, he (Rashford) was in the shadows waiting for the opportunity. The shirt is empty (vacant). It’s something fantastic for the kid, let’s give the shirt to him.”

The Journey Of Shaun Wright Phillips With Phoenix Rising FC

The premier league player Shaun Wright Phillips joined Phoenix Rising FC in 2017. The 37 year old who spent the previous two seasons with the New York Bulls has had a long career. Shaun came over to perform in the United States post his stint that ended in the year 2015 with Queens Park Rangers in England. At that time, he made his appearances only 21 times in Major League Soccer tournaments and scored a single goal. Shaun’s career in England started in 1999 during his tenure with Manchester City. He did put in a lot of effort at the club which made him win the award as the Young Player of the Year 4 times in a row starting from 2000 to 2003. The player scored 26 goals for Manchester City in 153 appearances.

In 2005, Shaun moved to Premier League Champions Chelsea and continued to play for 3 years. He made around 82 appearances and successfully scored 4 goals for the club. Soon after Chelsea, he came back to Manchester City and stayed on for 3 years and made 64 appearances and scored 9 goals. The journey further moved to Queens Park Rangers as he played in the Championship and Premier League in his 4 year tenure there. Besides his excellent club resume, Shaun made 36 appearances for England and scored 6 goals in international matches.

Shaun Wright Phillips On England

Shaun Wright Phillips said that England has an exciting team for the next World Cup in Russia and they have a good chance of reaching at least the quarter-finals. He said that players such as Harry Kane, Dele Ali and Marcus Rashford will all be exciting to watch for the England team.

Shaun Wright Phillips said that it is in defence that there might be a problem, especially against the better sides. He said that England has been winning games in the qualifying campaign thanks to their potent attack but they might be a bit weak at the back.

The former England international said that manager should work on this aspect in the remaining friendly fixtures so as to help the team becomes better at the back. This will prevent the team to become less vulnerable to counter-attack. He said that there is a good balance in the team between youth and experience and this is important at a tournament such as the World Cup.

He said that England have failed to deliver on their promises before a major tournament for quite some time now and it is important that this time around they show what they are capable. Shaun Wright Phillips said that the England national team will be benefiting from the performance of team such as Tottenham Hotspurs who are made up of many England players and that will give them the confidence that they can perform at the highest level.

Shaun Wright Phillips said that the first big test of the tournament will come against Belgium who also has an exciting team. He said that the majority of the Belgium players play in the Premier League and it will be interesting to see how they manage to play against their fellow teammates.
