      WRIGHT-PHILIPS – AT JUST £4M, CELTIC SHOULD RAID LEICESTER TO SIGN MIDFIELDER

Leicester need cash and it is apparent that Brendan Rodgers’ side could start to offload a number of their players on the cheap – the latest example is Dennis Praet, according to reports, and Celtic should consider taking advantage. The Foxes managed just two signings in the summer window – signing Wout Faes as a replacement for Wesley Fofana. Alex Smithies, also, on a free transfer. But Leicester needed so much more. Financially, they could not do it.


The club desperately need to offload a number of players in order to reduce the wage bill. Some of their dead wood, on large-ish wages, will be the first players in which Rodgers must axe. Praet, 28, is an example of that. CalcioMercato report that Leicester are willing to cash in on Belgium international Praet for a bargain £4million.                  WRIGHT-PHILLIPS: GOOD MOVE FOR KAYKY TO LEAVE MAN CITY ON LOAN

According to reputed Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano, Manchester City’s 19-year-old attacking prodigy Kayky is on his way to Portuguese club Pacos de Ferreira on a year-long loan deal. The move is expected to be made official in the coming week. Manchester City beat competition from Liverpool to sign Brazilian starlet Kayky from Fluminense in the 2021 summer transfer window. The youngster went on to make 14 appearances for the Citizens’ under-21 side, scoring six goals and providing four assists. Kayky also managed to play twice for the club’s senior team, once each in the FA Cup and the Premier League.

The Premier League champions are eager for Kayky to continue his development and are thus sending him out on a year-long loan to Portugal. The Brazilian wonderkid is set to undergo a medical with Pacos de Ferreira on Monday, as all terms have been agreed upon between Manchester City and the Portuguese club. (more…)

WRIGHT-PHILLIPS: ENGLAND SENIOR TEAM CAREER SUMMARISED

Shaun Wright-Phillips made his England debut as a substitute for Nicky Butt during the game with Ukraine on August 18, 2004. He was able to celebrate his debut with a goal as he scored the final goal in a 3-0 friendly win for his team. Shaun Wright-Phillips was a regular in the England squad during the qualifying campaign for the 2006World Cup tournament as the 1966 World Cup winners qualified for the World Cup tournament in Germany. He made his first competitive start for England during a 1-0 away win over Wales in a 2006 World Cup qualifier.


England went to the 2006 World Cup tournament on German soil without Shaun Wright-Phillips in the squad after he lost form at Chelsea. He was recalled to the England squad for the friendly game with Germany after a good start to the 2007/08 season. WRIGHT-PHILLIPSPREDICTS CITY GAME CORRECTLY

Shaun Wright-Phillips was right with his prediction of the outcome of the Premier League clash between hosts Burnley and Manchester City last weekend as the Citizens chase a fourth league title in five seasons. Ex-Chelsea and Manchester City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips was on Premier League TV for analysis on the title race including the games involving Liverpool and Manchester City alongside compatriot Michael Owen. Shaun Wright-Phillips predicted an away win for Manchester City as he was confident that they will return to the Premier League summit after Liverpool had taken it with their home win over Watford. His predicted was right after City scored two early goals to record a 2-0 win at Burnley thereby returning to the top of the Premier League log.


Liverpool secured the Premier League summit for a few hours after beating relegation-threatened Watford 2-0 at home in the early kickoff on Saturday. In-form Diogo Jota scored the opening goalmidway into the first half before substitute Fabinho wrapped up the game in the final moments after Jota was brought down by Slovakian midfielder Juraj Kucka. Brazilian star Fabinho has scored some penalties for Liverpool this season and he was successful again from 12 yards out against the Hornets to wrap up an important win for his team. (more…)

WRIGHT-PHILLIPS SIGNS NEW STOKE DEAL

D’Margio Wright-Phillips has signed a new deal at English Championship outfit Stoke City. The news of his contract extension was announced by the club at the end of last month. D’Margio Wright-Phillips is the son of former Premier League star Shaun Wright-Phillips. D’Margio Wright-Phillips would be hoping to follow in the footsteps of Shaun Wright-Phillips by playing in the Premier League.

20-year-old D’Margio Wright-Phillips broke into the first team at Stoke City earlier this season and he had only made four appearances for the team before club officials decided to hand him a new deal. The son of ex-Chelsea and Manchester City winger Shaun Wright-Phillips put pen to paper to sign a new two-and-a-half year deal with the Potters until the end of the 2023/24 season.

WRIGHT-PHILIPS PREDICTS PREMIER LEAGUE TOP FOUR

Former Manchester City and Chelsea winger Shaun Wright-Philips has predicted the four teams that would qualify for next season’s Champions League. CHELSEA TIPPED FOR PREMIER LEAGUE GLORY

Shaun Wright-Phillips is certain that both Chelsea and Manchester City will fight for the first title this season. Shaun Wright-Phillips represented the two Premier League teams during his career but he’s tipping Chelsea to beat holders Manchester City to the title. He made this known in an interview with the Metro. According to him, Chelsea have shown that they can secure big wins without having to play well.


England international Shaun Wright-Phillips went on to state what has changed since Thomas Tuchel replaced club legend Frank Lampard as the Chelsea manager. He said that the Chelsea attack was menacing under Lampard but his team was conceding too many goals. White became an Arsenal player this summer following a £50m transfer from fellow Premier League team Brighton and Hove Albion. He played in the Premier League for one season in the colours of the Seagulls before moving to Arsenal. For French World Cup winner Varane, he left Real Madrid to sign for Manchester United this summer in a deal that could rise to the £41m.
