Shaun Wright Phillips has said that he is slowly getting back to peak form.

Phillips’ performance this year has been quite outstanding. He has looked in great form in all the matches that he has played this year. Last month, he scored his first Premier League goal as a QPR player in the match against Chelsea.

Phillips had joined QPR at the start of the 2011-12 season, but, in his debut season, he failed in making a mark. He didn’t score even a single goal in his first season for QPR.

Phillips’ kept struggling with his form in the first half of the ongoing season as well, but, now; it seems that he has got back his form.

When asked about his performance this year, Phillips said, “This has been a lucky year for me so far. I have performed well in almost all the games this year and I am very happy about it.”

When asked if he was under pressure because of his goal drought, Phillips said, “The goals had not been coming since a long time, so, yes, I was getting a bit nervous. That goal against Chelsea came at the right time for me. I was low in confidence, but, after scoring that goal, I got my confidence back.”

“I think I am getting better and better with every match. Hopefully, I would manage to score a few more goals in the upcoming matches.”

“I want to thank my team mates who gave me immense support when I was going through a tough time. Our new manager Harry Redknapp also backed me. He told me to keep believing in myself and keep working hard in training sessions. I did exactly that and it really paid off for me.”
